The theme that I connect my three memories to is hope and perseverance. Without hope while I stayed in hospitals, I would have never been able to encourage the other kids there that things will and do get better, no matter how hard the struggle. Right now, I do the same thing to kids who are still in a hospital or any other kids who are struggling with their health. Telling them the success stories of people I know and the stories of my personal life gives those kids hope and reasons to keep pushing and not giving up. In the future, I plan on doing the same thing with my degree in special education and minor in psychology, and for when I begin teaching children in rehabilitation hospitals for an extended period of time. While schooling them, I also plan on showing them hope and giving them the perseverance to not let their pain or discomfort take control of their lives.
